All forage wagons are manufactured as either ‘center feed’, where the delivery of material is under the center section of the machine, or as ‘side feed’, where the teased forage material is transported via a conveyor to the side of the machine. There are advantages and disadvantages with both. Center feeds are more flexible in the handling of hay and stubble residues and side feeds afford delivery under fence lines (hot wires) or into feed troughs. The side feed machine has a removable side conveyor, so that it can function as a center feed with materials not suited to belt transportation.
