DISC OPENERS, do you really need them? Although they are available as an optional extra we find that the Taege Direct Drills very rarely need them. There are hundreds of happy owners out there that will tell you that disc openers are not necessary and by having them you could get less tilth and penetration.

SEED BINS

a. Larger capacity seed boxes (405L for 3.0m and 485L for 3.6m) therefore greater hectares covered between fills.
b. Thicker material used to build bins.
c. High seed boxes to give a good fall on the hoses when on steep country.
d. Either seed box can be used so if you aren’t putting on fertiliser then both boxes can be used for seed therefore doubling your capacity.
e. Very easy cleaning out of seed boxes which are left totally empty within seconds.

SMALL SEED INSERTS

a. Small Seed Insert option which has a sealed baffle between each drop so that you can fill every 2nd or 3rd compartment to give wider spacing when sowing Swedes etc.
b. With Small Seed Inserts in both boxes you also have the option of sowing different small seed in alternate rows.
c. Easy to empty and remove.

TYNE

a. Standard maxi till tynes are used in a special configuration and angle to give outstanding results in many
applications. Breaking Tynes isn’t an issue as they are set up very different to a Maxi Till (EXTRA HEAVY DUTY TYNES ARE ALSO AN OPTION GIVING GREATER TRASH CLEARANCE)
b. Very economic and obtainable to replace when needed.
c. Very active in use therefore shattering the ground giving a very good tilth bed.
d. Flexible, so excellent in rocky conditions by moving around and over large rocks without breaking something.
e. The combination of tyne and tip set up is such that the Taege drill will penetrate and give good tilth in
harder ground than all other drills on the market in its price bracket and will even do much better than a
lot of drills in a much higher price range.
f. Trash clearance is very good for a hoe drill due to the tyne movement, spacing and staggering. In live tests
against other brands that pride themselves on their trash clearance design, the Taege drill stood out as the
most favourable for trash clearance.
g. Due to the flexibility, good contour following is achieved in areas of old hardened wheel ruts etc.

TYNE SPACING

a. 121mm (4 ¾ inch) spacing eliminating the need for cross drilling, better coverage, more competition against weeds.
b. 23 drops over a 3.0m wide drill and 29 drops over a 3.6m wide drill.
c. A 23 drop over 3.5m wide drill with 152mm spacings is also an option.

3 PIECE BOOT/TIPS

a. Nihard with a tungsten leading edge.
b. Much less diesel used due to the fine tip. A local farmer couldn’t believe how much extra fuel he used in a
direct comparison with a Duncan Renovator even though it only had 19 drops as opposed to the Taege at 23.
c. Excellent penetration
d. Excellent tilth giving excellent strike rate. For the last 3 years in a row a Taege drill has won 1st and 2nd
prize in the Malvern winter feed competition, and the 4th year 1st, 2nd, 3rd, and 4th was achieved.
e. 600 to 800 hectares has been achieved before replacement from contractors in stony Canterbury conditions.
f. Economic to replace
g. Quite moist conditions can be drilled without blockage.

SPONGE SEED METERING

a. Sponge seed metering system which is very accurate and doesn’t damage the seed.
b. It can handle all the types of seed that will be required of it.
c. Easy removal of sponge roller bars for cleaning and storage away from rodents.

COLLECTOR TRAY UPGRADE

a. A rubber boot system where the sponge sits down in, therefore no seed is affected by the wind.
b. The sides of the boot are steep so that seed bounce isn’t a problem on steep country.
c. New seed collector trays can slide back to allow for broadcast sowing.
d. The large calibration tray which then fits under the sponges can hold a lot of seed for very accurate
calibration and easy quick cleanout between seed types.
e. Live run calibration is possible if required.

MECHANICAL DRIVE OPTION (Not available in Unidrill range)

a. If it stops working you can see what the problem is and can fix it.
b. Relatively easy to calibrate and accurate in settings
c. No wires or connections

ELECTRONIC DRIVE OPTION

a. Very little moving parts, ie. 2 sprockets and 1 chain per box so wear and tear is minimal.
b. Very quick and easy to calibrate
c. Very accurate
d. Ability to increase or decrease seeding rate on the move from your tractor seat.
e. A number of presets (calibration setups) can be stored of your choice so that you can be drilling with a push of a button after changing seed types.
f. Improvements can be easily done as electronics improve to suit the farming sector, i.e. GPS.

TAEGE COVER LEVELLING HARROWS (TCLH)

a. Once fitted to the back of your implement they can be left there due to their versatility.
b. When the rear draw bar is lifted the TCLH lift also which allows reversing into corners etc
c. No sideways slippage or roll up occurs on hills as you get with chain type harrows.
d. Trash build up is much better managed and doesn’t get rolled into a ball or roll as in chain harrows.
e. The TCLH are set up in 2 halves and they pivot up and down and rotate to allow for contour following.
f. Excellent coverage and levelling is achieved in cultivated and direct applications.
g. When not required they can be clipped up out of the way under the tread plate within seconds.
h. Top mechanical link is now an option allowing very light to heavy pressure on tynes to suit conditions.
