About Gough Agritech
Gough Agritech Ltd, based near Darfield in Central Canterbury, is a direct importer of grain handling, drying and storage equipment. We are the sole NZ distributor for Twister silos, Flach and Le-Roy on-floor drying systems, the Brandt range of grain handling equipment which includes augers, conveyors and grainvacs, and a recent addition is Cestari grain carts from South America. Products are distributed nationwide.

Doug and Jo Gough, the owners of Gough Agritech Ltd, also own a cropping farm and between them have many years of practical experience which clients can benefit from when it comes to putting the right combinations of equipment together. Our philosophy is to provide the best quality equipment of its type at a competitive cost, along with knowledgeable backup service. Both Doug and Jo are well aware of the on-going challenges faced by farmers and the grain-growing industry in particular, and have frequently offered their input to both new and experienced growers when requested.

Doug’s experience lies in many years of practical arable farming along with his tertiary agricultural qualifications and a love of farm machinery, both vintage and modern. His specialty area is crop drying which is a technical and very misunderstood subject and many farmers have been enlightened by Doug’s vast knowledge on this topic.

Jo’s contribution comes in the form of an agricultural diploma from Lincoln College plus a number of years working in shipping, accounting and farm machinery importing which has positioned her nicely to manage the administration side of Gough Agritech Ltd.

We have 2 children, Hamish and Laura, who are starting to have an understanding of the machinery business, having travelled to Canada to meet suppliers and tour the manufacturing plants.

Working alongside us are an Operations Manager and a sales support person, plus a team to place concrete and assemble equipment. “We pride ourselves in keeping to a timetable and doing everything we can to ensure equipment is built on time.”

Weather can be a major factor in construction delays and as it’s something we have no control over, the earlier a customer makes the decision to proceed the better the outcome is likely to be, with a minimum of stress for all concerned. Assembly of equipment is prioritised on a first-come first-served basis which is another good reason for getting in early. With silos, although some clients choose to undertake the assembly themselves, most take advantage of the experience of our assembly team.
